INTRODUCTION
You are spirit. Everything is
spirit. Your personal chunk of this thing called spirit is your soul.
So the spirit is having a soul. And your ego identity is your
personal way to express this soul in the world of time and space.
Your body is just spirit moving slowly through time and space. A
physical chunk of spirit manifested as your travelling companion.
You ARE NOT an individual having a
soul, but a soul having an individual expression. And to look at the
universe through the eyes of the soul, is vastly different, from
looking at it through the eyes of the individual earthly self.
Astrology has been regarded as a
way to understand the language of the universe; a tool to interpret
what the spirit was really up to. Astrology was used, so the kings
and people could live in harmony with the spheres. It was also used
to predict outer events, to be prepared, or if you were bold enough,
try to change the will of the fates. The oldest scriptures of
astrology from our history, where concerned with the outer world and
predictions. In the last fifty years it has been an enormous surge in
psychological astrology. The focus of most astrologers has moved from
the outer world to the inner landscape of man.
We have studied the effect on
planets and stars on the outer world, and on the inner psychological
world. But sometimes, it seems to me, that we become as easily caught
up in the limitations of inner world psychology, as we were caught in
the outer world of events. Now we predict psychological reactions,
where we earlier predicted events. In many ways we have moved the
gods, from forces outside ourselves to forces inside ourselves.
Most of this astrology seems to
have been viewed from the angle of the individual, and his/her
earthly needs. A new kind of astrology needs to make a shift in the
perspective. To look more at the forces that moves; instead of the
effect it has on the moved. To connect deeper to our soul, and with
spirit, we have to make a shift in our consciousness. We need to be
less involved with the fear, guilt and need for redemption that
springs from the ego, to become more connected with the intentions of
the soul and the spirit. If you have a clogged pipeline, you can
start to dig out the dirt. While you are at this pipeline, you have
to be careful, and perhaps dig with a small spoon, because it hurts
so much every time you dig into the infected mass. Or you can create
a small whole through the pipeline, find a hose, and let the water
run. I often feel that humanity as a whole do not have time to wait
for the “digging teaspoon party” to finish their job. The
water is the water of life. To be able to let it flow, we need the
perspective of soul and spirit. In fact, the water flowing is to let
the intention of soul and spirit flow through us, this will by itself
clean the pipeline and remove the debris. |
